Executive Team Meetup 2022

Today, our Officers and Executive Board went to Seattle! They were divided into 2 groups; the Expedia Team and the Design Team. Both teams first went to the Columbia Center Sky View Tower. At the very top of the building, the 73rd floor, there was an amazing view of the buildings and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. After overlooking the beautiful view, our Expedia Team headed over to the new Expedia HQ.

At the headquarters, the team met with Christie Hudson (Head of Public Relations) and she gave them a tour of the building! During this, the Central Public Library of Seattle provided us an amazing conference room. Our Design Team spent the afternoon with Kari Toms designing our 22-23 chapter t-shirt designs and preparing for the start of the school year! The Expedia Team met the designers there and they held a vote on the different designs to choose!

After our design meeting both teams went down to the Pike Place Market. They received a list of questions to ask local businesses in the market, for example, What are your most popular products?, What kind of business is this?, etc. They all bought a product from the business they chose to show everyone at our set-up meeting on September 1st.

When they finished, everyone walked around Seattle and explored one last time before leaving. They went through the gum wall and down post alley and from there back to the parking lot to head back to Lacey. Everyone had a blast in Seattle and can't wait for the new school year to start!

See you September 7th!

SBLC 2019 Results

WaFBLA ML events are broken into National and State only Competitive events. Students competing for Nationals at the middle level are recognized on stage if they qualify. The first place competitor is invited to Nationals. If that competitor can't make Nationals, then the next in line is invited. Congratulations to KMS FBLA competitors Payton Hardy and Tori Ward for qualifying as first place and being invited to Nationals in their events. We have five others who were in the top 3 spots and are waiting to see if they will get a bump to the National spot. Congratulations to each of our WaFBLA SBLC participants.  WaFBLA also offers State Only events where students prepare in public speaking, interviews, social media, digital gaming theory, and other business topics. Of these State Only competitive events, 15 Komachin students were invited to the stage in 8 events. Of these, Mikalah Weinle (Spread The Word), Lizzie Alba & Jacob Brown (The Tank), & Tori Ward (Jing...

Minute to Win It

Today some of our FBLA officers hosted a fun Minute to Win it game room on Friendship Friday for our Program of Work. We hoped to bring together strangers and maybe bloom new friendships. We started by breaking the room up into groups of 4-6. The first game we played was macaroni chopsticks, you had to go to a cup full of macaroni and pick up a macaroni noodle with chopsticks and bring the macaroni back to your group. The second game we played was charades. You would take an apples to apples card and try to act out the word that was on it. The room was full of screaming and laughter. Thanks to Lizzie A, Tori W, and Avah Y for making this happen.
